Minutes:
Motion to accept August 11, 2025 minutes made by Stephanie seconded by Mark. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Laurie
Report handed out.
Motion to pay bills by Laurie. Seconded by Mark. Motion carried.
Do we keep Quickbooks? Table until October. Laurie and Stephanie will meet with the accountant to see if Laurie’s spreadsheet is sufficient. Motion made by Mark. Seconded by Stephanie. Motion carried.
Motion to audit the treasurer reports for the last 2 years made by Mark. Seconded by Trent. Motion carried.
Old Business
Annual Meeting & Fundraiser
We made $950 from gambling at the annual meeting.
Very tough to hear since we were in the bar. We would need to have the back room guaranteed.
Motion to make an annual meeting committee made by Laurie. Seconded by Trent. Motion carried.
Mark will reach out to those that were in attendance at this year’s meeting to see if they would like to be on the committee.
We would like to have the 2026 annual meeting on August 22, 2026.
Vanguard Funds
Need to check with Don to see what has been done. Larry will reach out to the local investment firm out of United Community Bank.
Membership and Retention
Discussion on starting the membership drive earlier in the year. Motion to start in the spring made by Mark. Seconded by Laurie. Motion carried.
Motion to make a membership and retention committee made by Trent. Seconded by Laurie. Motion carried.
Idea to have more get togethers all year long. Ideas:
Ice cream social.
Northern tournament.
Newsletter
Don is still willing to work on the newsletter.
Ernie believes that we should focus more on printing the newsletter and not emailing.
Idea to have a monthly newsletter. It doesn’t have to be big.
Do we send the newsletter to everyone? Only members?
Membership committee to discuss. Everyone to brainstorm ideas of what could go into a more frequent newsletter.
Resort Owners Gathering:
September 24 at 5pm at the Dougout. Stephanie will check with Dougout to make sure that date works.
MAISRC, RMB, COLA
Trent to look into assisting Denny and Jim with water testing this fall.
Weed removal
Done for this year. Larry will talk to Don about getting permits.
Need to look into cutting weeds and what to do about the bogs.
New Business
Rock Arch Ramp Fishway – No update. Larry will get a hold of Doug and/or Spence.
Rock Markers
Ordering 3 more.
Variance Request
Received a notice for a variance request. Request is to build a garage and breezeway 80 feet from Dead Lake.
It is the agreement of the board to oppose the variance to the setback.
