Called to order at 10:02 by Don Janes
Minutes:
Motion to accept May 12, 2025 minutes made by Larry seconded by Carolyn. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Craig
Sent via email. Motion to accept the treasurers report made Larry by seconded by Stephanie. Motion carried.
Old Business
Officers: Vice President: Larry. Motion made by Stephanie and seconded by Craig. Motion Carried. Don Janes remains the president and Nicki Binczik remains the secretary.
Vanguard Funds
Need to send new authorized people due to Ward leaving. Adding Larry, Don and Nicki.
Annual Meeting: Where, when, how?
Moved to August 9 due to the Salty Pickle being busy on the 2nd.
Food options will be Burger Bar and Pulled Pork Sandwiches. Carolyn will fill out the contract and get it to the Salty Pickle.
Will have 5 tables available for the silent auction. Stephanie in charge of the silent auction. 2 tables will be available for check ins.
Denny Trudell will place signs around about advertising the meeting.
Motion made for Carolyn to move forward with the contract with the Salty Pickle made by Larry. Seconded by Sharon. Motion Carried.
Fundraiser: Where, when, how?
Nicki to reach out again to gambling for Salty Pickle due to the date change.
Membership and Retention
Don has someone interested in being on the board.
This is Don’s last year on the board. Need more people to volunteer.
Motion made by Craig to make a change to the bylaws that would allow Don to stay on the board. Seconded by Stephanie. Motion carried.
Don to check the bylaws to see if this also needs approval at the annual meeting.
Newsletter: Who, What, When, Where, and How
Newsletter went out via email.
Don working on next newsletter. Planning to put out by early to mid July. Sharon and Carolyn to write letters. Don has a couple of other people writing articles.
Resort Owners Gathering:
Looking to do again in end of September. Possible date of Tuesday, September 23rd at Doug Out.
Membership-post cards
Nicki to make a new postcard. Craig to get information that he would like included: Dinner – date and time. Membership drive as part of the annual meeting. How to register.
MAISRC, RMB, Water Sampling, Spring kick-off
Public Access:
Lots of new signs.
Don to set up a meeting with Jeff Feistad the supervisor for public accesses.
Weed removal:
Our permit is ready. Per the weed removal company price may increase slightly. Also recommended to wait until the weeds are full.
Motion to hire the same weed removal company made by Stephanie. Seconded by Sharon. Motion carried.
New Business
Rock Arch Ramp Fishway
Shoreline Booklets:
Don has. Add stickers “Complements of Dead Lake Association”. Don to add.
Rock Markers:
The markers are out.
Motion made to pre-order 3 new rock markers to be delivered next spring made by Larry. Seconded by Carolyn. Motion carried.
AIS Detectors:
3 people now trained.
Wake Surf Wave Maps
Will put in the newsletter.
