Called to order at 10:06 by Don Janes
Minutes:
Motion to accept July 14, 2025 minutes made by Stephanie seconded by Carolyn. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Craig
No treasurer’s report as Craig resigned July 23, 2025.
The local United Community Bank does not offer any account management services (treasurer).
Need to establish a temporary second signer to get bills paid. Sharon Trudell offered to be the second signer. The board agreed to make Sharon the second signer along with Stephanie Johnson.
Patty will contact the Star Lake Association to ask questions regarding what they do with treasurer duties.
Patty made a motion for Laurie to be the treasurer. Larry seconded. Motion carried
Trent Strandburg offered to help be a back up in the winter when Laurie leaves town. Motion for Trent to also be a secondary treasurer made by Sharon, seconded by Patty. Motion carried.
Old Business
Vanguard Funds
Larry spoke with United Community Bank. Myron Roe is local and interested in helping with our investments. Motion to move forward with working with Myron to move Vanguard funds, seconded by Stephanie. Motion carried.
Don is going to talk to the people that originally set up the account as well.
Annual Meeting & Fundraiser
August 23 5pm. So far 11 people are registered for the meal. Numbers are expected to go up.
The meeting and fundraiser will be in the main bar area as the banquet room was double booked.
Denny will be putting up signs advertising.
Nicki will post to Facebook.
Gambling is set to go at 6:00pm.
Registration table – Patty and Stephanie and Carolyn running the registration table. They will also do a preliminary look around to figure out where tables should go.
Membership and Retention
Total membership is currently at 45.
Slate of Officers to be presented at the annual meeting.
President: Larry Ewer
Vice President: Carolyn Reynolds
Secretary: Nicki Binczik
Treasurer: Laurie Thisius & Trent Strandburg
Motion made by Carolyn, seconded by Patty. Motion carried.
Idea to have a booth next year for the Richville and Dent community festivals.
Newsletter
Newsletter went out.
Don and Terry will continue to do the newsletter.
Resort Owners Gathering:
Looking to do again in end of September. Waiting to set a date.
MAISRC, RMB, COLA
Water sampling still being done.
Trent Strandburg, Todd Thisius, and Fred Binczik are willing to help with water sampling.
Public Access
No known issues.
Weed removal
Weeds were removed from the channel last week.
May need to expand to east end weed removal for 2026.
AIS
Don and Patty are both certified AIS detectors.
New Business
How to put membership, newsletter, and other things online
Idea for a Google form to fill out the membership form and then we would contact them for more information.
Rock Markers:
The markers are out.
Wake Surf Wave Maps
Was put in the newsletter.
Put Map on Facebook.
