Called to order at 10:02 by Don Janes
Minutes:
Annual Meeting Minutes and August 12, 2024 minutes motion to accept made by Sharon, seconded by Ward. Motion carried.
Election of Officer
Secretary – motion to nominate Nicki Binczik made by Larry seconded by Don. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Craig
Report was handed out (see attachment). Motion to accept made by Carolyn, seconded by Larry. Motion carried.
DLA received 2 $50 checks in memorial of Don Fondrick. Stephanie will send a thank you note.
Endowment fund proposals – Vanguard Resolution
Paperwork for Vanguard will be filled out at the end of the meeting. Motion made by Don, seconded by Donna. Motion carried.
Newsletter
Articles: Bee Aware. Get to know your neighbors. Ice plunge article. Fish count.
Wait until after the Resort Owners Meeting to send out newsletter.
Annual Meeting
Stephanie agreed to continue to head the planning of the annual meeting and fundraiser.
Ideas
- Don’t have meeting the same weekend as WeFest.
- Send something to EVERYONE on the lake to let them know about it.
- Postcard?
- Face to face invitations
- Change locations? Salty Pickle? Woodshed? Carolyn will look into.
Fundraiser
Nicki to talk to friend about fundraiser ideas.
New Business
Training volunteers – MAISRC (becoming AIS detectors). Don will find out info.
Old business –
Weeds – Weed remover was out last week. Removed about 2 acres of weeds. This will hopefully slow the weed growth for next year. Do we want to do this again next year? Add information next year to the newsletter.
Resort owners – Meeting scheduled. Have not heard back from any owners if they are coming.
Variances –Original agreement was to replace dwelling and remove other outbuildings. Now would like to keep outbuildings. Neighbors are ok with change.
COLA – talked about changing dams to rock dams. Concerns about lake level. DNR says that lake level has not changed on any of the lakes where the dams have been upgraded. Next meeting at Ottertail Community Center the third Thursday of the month.
